John C. Reilly, Hailee Steinfeld, and More to Voice Studio Ghibli's 'When Marnie Was There'
Good news for fans of Studio Ghibli (that should be EVERYONE). A voice cast has been found for the U.S. release of When Marnie Was There, plus a release date for this summer has finally been nailed down. Hailee Steinfeld will take the lead role as a young girl who makes her first friend, only she turns out to be somewhat unusual.
The rest of the cast will be filled by John C. Reilly, Vanessa Williams, Geena Davis, Kathy Bates, Ellen Burstyn, Catherine O’Hara, Kiernan Shipka, Grey Griffin, Ava Acres and Raini Roodriguez. Hiromasa Yonebayashi directed the film after the excellent award-winning The Secret World of Arrietty.
When Marnie Was There arrives in limited release on May 22nd with an expansion over the following weeks.
