Jim Carrey, Jason Momoa, and Keanu Reeves Join Ana Lily Amirpour's 'The Bad Batch'

The stars are not only beginning to align for red-hot director Ana Lily Amirpour, but the stars are lining up to work with her. And who can blame them after her debut feature A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night showed her unique sense of style and mood. Now with major studio backing from Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures for her next film, The Bad Batch, Amirpour has gathered managed to put together an impressive cast.

Keanu Reeves, Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey, Diego Luna, and Suki Waterhouse will lead The Bad Batch, a dystopian love story set in a community of cannibals. Wow, given what Amirpour was able to do with vampires in her last film she may pull off something insane this time. And just check out the names of the characters which probably clue us in to the wild atmosphere Amirpour is looking to create: Momoa plays Miami Man, Carrey is The Hermit, Diego Luna is Jimmy, Waterhouse is Arlen, and Reeves is known as The Dream. Uh, okay. Want more reason to get excited? Take another look at this description from when Amirpour won a $10K grant from Rooftop Films to complete The Bad Batch...

“…a highly twisted, unusual, romantic, and innovative movie set in a future dystopia. In a desert wasteland in Texas, a muscled cannibal breaks one important rule: don’t play with your food. ‘The Bad Batch’ is a savage love story, like a psychedelic ‘Road Warrior,’ inspired by films like ‘El Topo’ and ‘Wild At Heart.’ Shot in bold saturated hues and stylings of the ’80s & ’90s, the film will also feature a wicked techno & western-laced soundtrack.’ ”
