Joel Kinnaman Confirms Rick Flag Role in 'Suicide Squad'

David Ayer's Suicide Squad has found its Rick Flag, and he's none other than Robocop star Joel Kinnaman. A few weeks ago Tom Hardy dropped out of the role due to scheduling and the character's diminished place on the team. Kinnaman was considered a frontrunner for the role along with Joel Kinnaman and Jon Bernthal. Here's what Kinnaman told Allocine when asked about Suicide Squad...

"All I can say is that I will be in the movie, and it's going to be amazing."

He joins Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevigne as Enchantress, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto as the Joker. Suicide Squad follows a team of villains forced by the government to take deadly missions as expendable assets. If they succeed they get a pardon; if not they're probably dead, anyway. In the comics Flag is basically the team's field leader but the film is said to be focusing mostly on Deadshot and Harley Quinn.
