The biggest shocker of all about David Fincher's Gone Girl? Tyler Perry. Not that he wasn't dressed up as an elderly grandmother for once, but that he actually was pretty good as superstar lawyer Tanner Bolt. Now Perry is boarding another high-profile film in a supporting role, taking on a key character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
Perry will play nerdy scientist Baxter Stockman in the sequel, which will be directed by David Green. Before the racists get all hot and bothered that an African-American is playing the Caucasian character, it's worth noting that Stockman was black in the original comics. His race was changed for the popular cartoon, which is where most fans came to know him and his army of robotic Mousers. Stockman would eventually become transformed into a human/fly hybrid and continue to plague the Turtles. In the recent TMNT animated series Stockman is again an African-American.
Megan Fox is due to return as April O'Neill along with William Fichtner as Eric Sacks and Stephen Amell (Arrow) as Casey Jones. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 opens June 3rd 2016. [Variety]
