Vincent Cassell Is a Cult Leader in the New Trailer for 'Partisan'

It drives me nuts when I can't get around to reviewing everything I saw at Sundance, but a dude has to sleep and eat at some point. One of the films I saw but couldn't get around to was Partisan, Ariel Kleinman's cult drama starring Vincent Cassel.  Not only was I impressed by it but so were the Sundance voters who honored it with the Cinematography award in the World Cinema Drama category.

While there's still no U.S. release date the film will be opening in France next month and a new trailer has arrived ahead of it. The always-charismatic Cassel plays Gregori, the leader of a cult comprised entirely of women and children. The kids are being trained to be thieves and killers, but an ideological war erupts when the headstrong Alexander (Jeremy Chabriel) begins to question Gregori's leadership.

Partisan will hopefully be released stateside later this year, and I believe if it comes out at the right time we could see Cassel get some awards recognition.
