Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's 'By the Sea' Set for this November

Angelina Jolie's last film, Unbroken, was gifted with a prime Oscar-contending slot basically on potential and her star power. That it didn't really pan out as expected isn't stopping Universal Pictures from granting her next film, By the Sea, the same luxury.

Jolie's next directorial effort, in which she stars alongside hubby Brad Pitt, has been slotted for November 13th, right in the thick of the awards season. Jolie also write and produced the relationship drama which features an international cast of  Mélanie Laurent, Niels Arestrup, Melvil Poupaud and Richard Bohringer. Here's the official synopsis:

By the Sea follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa (Jolie Pitt), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Laurent) and François (Poupaud), and village locals Michel (Arestrup) and Patrice (Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.
