'Batman v Superman' Rumors: Lex Luthor will have Help from Another Major DC Comics Villain

Considering Zack Snyder's film is titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, one would expect the two heroes will be battle each other throughout. The central conflict is definitely between them, but with Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) also in the mix there is at least one more threat to overcome. The thing about Luthor is that he's only a physical match for either hero if he's wearing his green and purple exo-suit, and now a rumor says that may actually be the case.

The rumor emerges over at Joblo whose source claims to have seen Luthor's warsuit and that it will be worn in the film. That would make Eisenberg's version of Luthor the first to ever do so, and a nice way of making him a more formidable physical opponent. Its appearance is said to be very comics-accurate, which should make for a pretty cool visual, especially if it's part of a major clash with Superman in the film's finale. As for how he acquired the suit, that much is unknown but it could involve leftover Kryptonian technology from Superman's fight with Zod. It may even include the use of Zod's corpse. The report also says Luthor won't be the only villain to appear, and another "scoop" has info on who else it could be.

Assuming Luthor's intellect isn't enough to stop Superman and Batman, he may have some powerful help....like powerful enough to kill the Man of Steel.  Ex-Latino Review scooper Umberto Gonzalez "confirms" the villain Doomsday, yes the one that killed Superman years ago, will appear in the film as Luthor's muscle. That seems like an incredible waste for one of DC's most dangerous, and most famous, villains. The live-action Doomsday is said to look "incredible", and just as he does in the comics pages. In the comics, Doomsday was an indestructible alien who rampaged across the universe until arriving on Earth. There he defeated the entire Justice League with ease (literally with a hand tied behind his back) until he faced Superman in the streets of Metropolis. He killed Superman but also died in the fight himself.

This isn't the first or even the second time Doomsday has been rumored for Batman v Superman, but until something is actually confirmed take all of this with a grain of salt. The worry, of course, is that there is already too much going on with this film. You've got Batman vs. Superman plus Luthor and possibly Doomsday, and that doesn't include the likes of future Justice Leaguers like Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) who are all set to debut.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25th 2016.
