James Gunn Casts 'Short Term 12' Star John Gallagher Jr. in 'The Belko Experiment'
Before James Gunn rejoins that bunch of a-holes of Guardians of the Galaxy 2, he's got a non-Marvel project to complete. Gunn wrote the screenplay for The Belko Experiment for Wolf Creek's Greg McLean to direct, and he just took to Facebok to excitedly announce the film's star, Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. of Short Term 12 and HBO's The Newsroom.
Also joining the cast alongside Gallagher is Scandal star, Tony Goldwyn, making a rare appearance on the big screen. His last film was as Shailene Woodley's father in Divergent. The Belko Experiment is a horror film about an American company in South America which is mysteriously sealed off and its employees trapped inside. Their true natures are revealed when the order comes down that they must kill or risk being killed themselves. While details on Gallagher's role are unclear, Goldwyn will play Barry Norris, a man used to being in charge at the company. Presumably he doesn't like having power wrested from him by this situation.
Gunn has said filming begins in June, so hopefully we find out more about the film soon.
