Heartbreaking Trailer for Amy Winehouse Documentary 'Amy'
Asif Kapadia (Senna) has received some of the best reviews of the Cannes Film Festival for his Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, with some calling it a "heartbreaking" look at the troubled singer, whose life tragically ended at the age of 27. Using previously unreleased material and archival footage, the film explores her brief but memorable career and the personal demons that led to her death. A new trailer has been released which serves as a reminder of the true talent she was in life, and makes it all the more painful she was taken away so young.
But not everybody is happy about the film. Winehouse's family, including her fiance, have criticized the film recently for "misleading" points they say Kapadia makes about Amy and her downfall.
We'll see for ourselves when Amy opens nationwide on July 10th. It opens in New York and Los Angeles a week earlier.
