Liam Neeson is currently busy with Martin Scorsese's Silence, but with a ton of new projects being pitched at Cannes he's become attached to another long-developing film. THR reports Neeson is set to star in A Willing Patriot, a terrorism thriller that finally seems to be moving forward.
Directed by Martin Zandvliet (the upcoming Land of Mine) from a script by producer Jason Keller, the film will find Neeson as a CIA agent in the tri-border region (Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina) caught in a game of cat-and-mouse with a terrorist planning an imminent attack.
The film has been in the works for awhile, most recently with Robocop's Jose Padilha at the helm, but that obviously fell through. Next up for Neeson is are summer appearances in Entourage and Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2.
