Over the last couple of weeks I've become a huge fan of two things: Mad Max: Fury Road, and Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Obviously, George Miller's film has been lauded for its incredible special effects and blistering action, but what has earned it a ton of additional praise are the strong female characters at the center of it. Arguably, the film is more about Charlize Theron's Furiosa than Mad Max, and he certainly couldn't have made it across that brutal desert without a lot of female support.
Strangely enough, the feminist Mad Max makes for a perfect companion with Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which stars Ellie Kemper as a woman who was held in an underground bunker for years, and emerges strong and ready to take on the world....with often disastrous (but hilarious) results. So one Youtube user decided to create the brilliant mash-up, The Unbreakable Furiosa, and it works like a charm. Check it out. I'd pay for this crossover.
