Two Clips from 'Jurassic World'; Colin Trevorrow won't Direct Sequel

With analysts projecting Jurassic World to hit over $100M in its debut weekend, Universal has to be thinking of a way to expand the franchise. Short of a crossover with The Fast and the Furious (The Fast and the Jurassic?), that's going to mean sequels, and probably plenty of them. But one guy who won't be back for more, at least not as a director, is Colin Trevorrow. Attending the film's Paris world premiere, Trevorrow reportedly told BadTaste.it that we can expect someone else to take over. Here's the loose translation...

"Jurassic Park should be a franchise like Star Wars, with several directors capable of giving different footprints."

But Trevorrow says he won't leave the franchise behind completely, adding...

"I would remain involved in some way, but not as a director."

Trevorrow has lined up a few projects to keep busy with, including the sci-fi film Intelligent Life, the mysterious Book of Henry, and at one time he was attached to a Flight of the Navigator remake.

Meanwhile, here are two more clips from Jurassic World, one that gives the briefest of introductions to the lethal Indominus Rex. Both scenes feature Irrfan Khan as an egotistical part operator who is destined to get stuck between the Rex's teeth. Another scene takes us into the control room where Jake Johnson provides a little bit of deadpan humor. Is it me or is he just taking over the Wayne Knight role?

Jurassic World opens June 12th.
