Charlie Brown is Going Places in the New Trailer for 'The Peanuts Movie'

While we all worry about Hollywood ruining our childhood favorites, that concern doesn't seem to have spread to The Peanuts Movie. That's a credit to director Steve Martino and the CG-animated glory he's paying to Charles M. Schulz's wonderful characters, and now we've got a new trailer featuring Charlie Brown and all of his friends.

Backed by The Who's "Baba O'Riley", this trailer gives a brief introduction to Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, and the rest of the gang.  The tone for this one is exactly right, perhaps because it was co-written by Schulz's sons Bryan and Craig, and the choice of animation style will be a comfort to traditionalists while still embracing of modern technology.

There's very little about this trailer that doesn't work for me, but then again I'm a Peanuts enthusiast. The other day I spent about three hours going through the Peanuts Wiki just to re-familiarize myself, and it's incredible the wide array of characters Schulz created and the topics he covered. Nearly all of those characters appear on the above poster, too.

The Peanuts Movie hits theaters on November 6th, and yep it's my most anticipated movie for the rest of the year. Is that crazy?
