Could 'Avengers: Infinity War' Include Adam Warlock Villain, The Magus?

With Marvel's big blowout, Avengers: Infinity War, already being split up into two parts that leaves plenty of room for more than one villain for the team to face. Obviously Thanos (voiced by Josh Brolin) will be the driving force behind whatever universe-threatening scheme they're trying to stop, but could we see intergalactic threat emerge? According to SpoilerTV, casting auditions for the film are underway and one of the roles is for The Magus, basically the evil version of cosmic hero, Adam Warlock.

“Auditions are now getting underway for the Marvel Studios feature film ‘Avengers: Infinity War – Part I’ lead and supporting roles. The auditions for new lead and supporting roles will be taking place in Los Angeles, CA. The film is the first in a two-part sequel in which Thanos plays a major role, along with the Magus. Adam Warlock’s bad side, the Magus, separates from his body and assembles the Infinity Gauntlet. Magus creates doppelgangers of Earth’s heroes as part of his plan to recreate a universe of evil. “Avengers: Infinity War – Part I” will be shot entirely on the IMAX/ARRI 2D digital camera.”

If true, this would make some degree of sense considering Adam Warlock was seen in his coccoon-like state in Guardians of the Galaxy. There have also been suggestions that Vision (Paul Bettany) more closely resembles Adam Warlock than his comics counterpart. Whatever the case, it seems unlikely the Magus would be introduced without Warlock.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and featuring pretty much everybody in the MCU, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 opens May 4, 2018, with Part II scheduled for May 3, 2019.
