'Daredevil' Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight Joins 'Transformers' Brain Trust
Did you enjoy the first season of Marvel's Daredevil? One of the guys you have to thank for that is showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, and while he won't be returning for season two, he's found another fan-friendly franchise to be part of. DeKnight has joined Paramount's rapidly growing Transformers brain trust.
Akiva Goldsman put together this Transformers "Writer's Room" to come up with projects to expand the multi-billion dollar franchise with sequels and spinoffs. Whatever one thinks about more of these movies there is an extremely talented group of people working on them. DeKnight joins Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Jeff Pinkner (Fringe), Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand), Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), “Black List” scribe Christina Hodson, Lindsey Beer, and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). The bulk of DeKnight's experience has been with television. Before Daredevil he led every season of Starz' terrific Spartacus series. So should we expect that he's coming aboard to work on some kind of Transformers TV show?
The fifth Transformers movie is expected to arrive in 2017. [Deadline]
