Emily Blunt to Star in Tate Taylor's 'The Girl On the Train'
Well, that didn't take long, did it? Only a couple of weeks ago The Help and Get On Up director Tate Taylor signed on to direct an adaptation of Paula Hawkins' mystery novel, The Girl On the Train, which many have compared to Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. And just like Taylor's other films, big stars are chomping at the bit to work with him.
In talks to take the lead role in the film is Emily Blunt, while Kate Mara (Fantastic Four) is being eyed for one of the other key roles. Blunt would take on the role of Renee, an alcoholic divorcee who witnesses a shocking act on her daily train commute to work. The script is being written by Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary), and if those Gone Girl comparisons are accurate we could be looking at another hit thriller geared towards adults.
No word on when filming begins but things do seem to be shaping up quickly.
