Xavier Dolan's next films promise to be much starrier efforts than last year's breakout, Mommy, which turned out to be one of 2014's absolute best. Initially we thought Dolan would follow it up with The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, with Jessica Chastain and Kit Harington set to star. But instead, Dolan set that aside (for now, hopefully) in favor of the drama It's Only the End of the World. That film stars Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, and a handful of international stars, and now we're getting the first image from it.
Based on Jean-Luc Lagarce's play, the story centers on a writer who returns home after a long absence to reveal his impending death to his family. Resentment causes the reunion to go in a different direction than planned. Presumably, Cotillard is a part of that family or maybe a love interest, but either way this is image is reason to hope we'll be seeing more soon.
We can probably expect to see this one ready in 2016, or if we're lucky late this year. [via ThePlaylist]
