Han Solo could Feature in Boba Fett 'Star Wars' Spinoff; Third Film May Center on Yoda

There has been no shortage of rumors regarding the Star Wars Anthology films, and it looks like some of them may be starting to come together. What we know is that the first standalone movie will be Star Wars: Rogue One, arriving in 2016 and directed by Gareth Edwards. It will center on a mission to steal the Death Star plans. The second spinoff, arriving in 2018, will center on Boba Fett's origin, but beyond that we don't know much. That's where this new batch of rumors comes in.

According to Schmoes Know (judge accordingly), the second Star Wars spinoff could also feature appearances by Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and bounty hunters like Bossk (my favorite SW character, btw). This would be part of an overall plan to explore some of the darker corners of the Star Wars universe, like what we got in the Mos Eisley scene in 'Episode IV'. Now, this isn't the first time we've heard about the likelihood of a Boba Fett and Han Solo spinoff film, and late last year Aaron Paul's name was floated as a possible actor to play Solo. In the old novel continuities that no longer exist, Solo and Fett have a long, rich, and shared history that we may see Lucasfilm refashion into future stories, possibly using a Western motif.

With Josh Trank having been booted off the film, a new director still needs to be found. The site's sources are suggesting that Jon Favreau and Matthew Vaughn are in the mix, and neither name is much of a shock. Favreau has close ties to Disney through the Iron Man movies, and Vaughn was one of the first directors eyed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

As for a third spinoff Anthology film, it could center on an origin for Yoda, another rumor that surfaced some time back.  This would be more of a "mythological and spiritual" film than the others (which sounds incredibly dull IMHO), but it could also be the most revealing about the nature of the Force, which may explain why it's the "final" spinoff movie.

But all of this is speculation both because of the sourcing and Lucasfilm's secretive nature.
