Hit the Pool with the Trailer for Netflix's 'Staten Island Summer'

One of the many perks of working with SNL creator Lorne Michaels? His reach extends far beyond the legendary sketch comedy, and many have made the move to feature films with his support. This summer Michael is producing the Netflix summer comedy, Staten Island Summer, written by SNL writer and Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost, and he's bringing a lot of familiar faces.

Boasting appearances by Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Kate McKinnon, Bobby Moynihan and Cecily Strong, the trailer kind of looks like an extended SNL comedy skit.  Directed by Rhys Thomas and starring Graham Phillips (The Good Wife), and Zack Pearlman (The Inbetweeners), the film is basically another wild, raucous "growing up" comedy centering on two friends trying to figure out their future post-graduation. In the meantime it's one more summer working as lifeguards and dealing with girls, parties...everything but the responsibility of their job.

This actually looks pretty good and like it could be one of the funnier comedies of the summer. Also starring Ashley Greene, Jim Gaffigan, Gina Gershon, Vincent Pastore, Method Man, and Kate Walsh, Staten Island Summer hits Netflix on July 31st.
