The first collaboration between JK Simmons and writer/director Damien Chazelle was with Whiplash, and it went about as well as one could hope. The film earned a Best Picture nomination while Simmons won an Oscar for his performance, and so it's no surprise the two are set to work together once more.
Simmons has joined Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in the musical La La Land. The film tells the story of Sebastian, a jazz pianist, and actress Mia who try to keep their relationship alive while their career pursuits keep interfering. Simmons will play a character simply known as "Boss".
The film is expected to open on July 15th 2016.
