Not long after he made his big debut with Safety Not Guaranteed, Colin Trevorrow found himself the target of rumors about Star Wars: Episode VII along with just about everybody else. But he denied it, everybody denied it, and ultimately the job went to J.J. Abrams will Trevorrow obviously broke the bank directing Jurassic World. Well, sometimes rumors have a way of coming full circle.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Trevorrow is going to be announced as the director of Star Wars: Episode IX later today during Comic-Con. Lucasfilm's panel at Hall H begins in just a few hours, and that would be one of the big surprises for the crowd.
Between this and the Young Han Solo Anthology film helmed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Lucasfilm is making a lot of moves to secure their Star Wars franchise. More news to come.
