With The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 arriving this November, Lionsgate is losing their highest-grossing franchise. Or are they? A few months ago a report surfaced that suggested they were looking at ways to extend the brand. Yesterday at the 'Mockingjay' panel here at Comic-Con the cast seemed sad but ready for the series' conclusion, however Josh Hutcherson may have revealed that more 'Hunger Games' are in the works.
While on Conan last night, the cast was asked about any plans by Lionsgate to keep the franchise going, to which Josh Hutcherson quickly replied "there is". He awkwardly tried to backtrack while Jennifer Lawrence sat wide-eyed, but the cat may have been let out of the bag. Hutcherson followed it up with....
“I’m sorry. No, I can’t say that. I’m sorry. We’ll see what happens,” Hutcherson said. “We’ll see what happens.
Conan basically called him out for being a terrible liar, while Lawrence continued to try and do damage control.
