You never know where Juno Temple is going to turn up next. She's managed to successfully keep both feet planted in the world of indies, where she's perhaps most popular, and blockbusters, appearing in smaller films like Dirty Girl (vastly underrated, by the way), Magic Magic, and Far from the Madding Crowd, to bigger movies like The Dark Knight Rises and The Three Musketeers. Her next film, Safelight, probably won't be getting much notice, but looks like it could be another solid role for her to bite into.
Directed by Tony Aloupis and co-starring Evan Peters (Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past), Ariel Winter (Modern Family), Kevin Alejandro (Arrow), and Christine Lahti (Running on Empty), the story has Temple playing a prostitute who is encouraged to leave that life and take up photography. Specifically, photographing lighthouses.
Okay, this looks pretty bland but Temple is good enough to make this worth watching. Safelight hits theaters and VOD on July 17th.
