New Posters for 'Crimson Peak', 'The Finest Hours', 'American Ultra', and More

Ahead of the Warner Bros. presentation at Comic-Con two character posters have been released for Guillermo Del Toro's gothic horror, Crimson Peak. The images feature stars Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston, and presumably there will be others with Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam. The film opens on October 16th and looks to be the one must-see horror of the Halloween season.  SYNOPSIS: When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.
From the imagination of director Guillermo del Toro comes a supernatural mystery starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam.

Disney has set sail with the first poster for The Finest Hours, a true story centering on one of the Coast Guard's greatest boat rescues. Ben Foster, Eric Bana, Chris Pine, Holliday Grainger, Casey Affleck, and John Ortiz star in the Craig Gillespie-directed film that "chronicles the massive rescue mission that’s launched when a pair of oil tankers split in two off the coast of Cape Cod in 1952." Look for the first trailer to arrive tomorrow.

Just in time for Comic-Con come two trippy comic book-style posters for American Ultra, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart.  The images were designed by popular artist, T.A.Z., and capture the film's unique artistic spirit. One poster is of the fake comic book "Apollo Ape" created by Eisenberg's character and plays a key role in the film. American Ultra is directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Project X) with a screenplay by Max Landis (Chronicle) and opens August 21st. SYNOPSIS: A stoner and his girlfriend’s sleepy, small-town existence is disrupted when his past comes back to haunt him in the form of a government operation set to wipe him out.

Hot on the heels of the surprisingly well-received trailer comes the new poster for Jenny's Wedding, which stars Katherine Heigl and Alexis Bledel as a gay couple with plans to tie the knot. Mary Agnes Donoghue (Beaches) directed and wrote the screenplay, and it should tell you something that her name is featured prominently. Clearly, this one is aiming for a certain demographic. Tom Wilkinson, Grace Gummer, and Linda Emond co-star with the film set to open on July 31st.

It seems like Goosebumps has been "on the way" for like a decade now (wasn't it at last year's Comic-Con?), but the film is finally arriving this October and the first poster has been released. Jack Black stars in the adaptation of R.L. Stine's popular novels, playing the author himself in a story that has his monstrous characters springing from the page and into reality. SYNOPSIS: Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.
