New Trailer for Steven Spielberg's 'Bridge of Spies' Starring Tom Hanks
Steven Spielberg's latest film, Bridge of Spies, doesn't boast the starriest cast he's ever assembled. But then again it doesn't really need to when it stars Tom Hanks and tells a true story set during the Cold War. Plus, Spielberg's name is enough of a draw on its own.
A new trailer has been released for the Coen Brothers-scripted drama centered on lawyer James Donovan, who was tasked by the CIA to negotiate the release of a pilot downed in Russia. Here's the official plot synopsis for a fuller look:
"A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, DreamWorks Pictures/Fox 2000 Pictures’ “Bridge of Spies” tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan’s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life."
Also starring Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, Alan Alda and more, Bridge of Spies opens October 16th.
