It looks like Marvel and ABC are back to feeling confident about Agents of SHIELD again. The series is set to return for its third season later this year, but a few months ago they considered spinning off two of the show's most popular new characters: Adrianne Palicki's Bobbi "Mockingbird" Morse and Nick Blood's Lance Hunter. The project was shot down only a few weeks later, but now Variety reports it is suddenly back on.
Newly-titled Marvel's Most Wanted, a pilot order has been placed for the series by ABC. The show will center on Morse and Hunter's SHIELD agent characters, who also happen to be on again/off again lovers. Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski will exec-produce, co-write, and serve as showrunners. There aren't any additional details except that it will follow the duo's adventures, although it's not being called a true spinoff. So does that mean both characters will continue to be featured in Agents of SHIELD? Will their show get an episodic lead-in?
Whatever happens, ABC is anxious for more Marvel. They've already got Agent Carter returning for a second season, and don't forget John Ridley's secret Marvel project that is still brewing.
