Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer to Play Sisters in Movie they Wrote

It turns out that new pals Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer were doing more than just jet skiing and making human pyramids in those vacation photos the entire world saw. They apparently took time out to start figuring out a new to take over Hollywood as a team rather than as individuals, and the way they're going to do that is by writing a movie together.

According to The New York Times, Lawrence and Schumer are writing a new comedy that they will then star in. While both ladies are undeniably talented and funny by just about any measure, the way they became friends is pretty basic. Lawrence saw Trainwreck, loved Schumer in it, and shot her an email. They've been hanging out ever since, and decided to make a movie in which they'd play siblings. Lawrence says...

“We play sisters. We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now. Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing ‘Trainwreck.’”

Is there a studio exec in the world that isn't blowing up their phone looking to snatch up this movie right now?  The combination of Lawrence and Schumer has tons of potential, and it will be interesting to see where the screenplay goes once completed. It's not as if they don't have some high-profile options for director, either. Lawrence could probably call up David O. Russell (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, Joy) in a heartbeat, while Schumer could turn to Judd Apatow.
