While many have their sights set on Jared Leto's performance as the Joker in Suicide Squad, now's a good time to start paying attention to another version of the Clown Prince of Crime. Over on the small screen Cameron Monaghan is playing the maniacal villain on Gotham, or at least that certainly seems to be the case based on his appearance in season one. And now a new villain-centric trailer for season two teases the Joker's evolution from psychotic kid to dangerous supervillain.
Showrunner Bruno Heller has promised this season of Gotham would see the villains running the asylum as chaos breaks out across Gotham. At the center of that will be Monaghan's character, currently named Jerome Valeska, and of course Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) aka the Penguin, who ascended to the top of the criminal ladder in last season's finale. Other villains appearing include billionaire Theo Galavan (James Frain) and his sister, Tigress (Jessica Lucas); Mr. Freeze, Firefly, and more.
Gotham returns to Fox on September 21st.
