Sandra Bullock Gets Political In The First Trailer For 'Our Brand Is Crisis'
It's hard to get a firm grasp on the career of David Gordon Green, as he's been all over the map. He started out with small art house films before indulging in R-rated comedies, and it was during that phase in which bigger names started to gravitate in his direction. In fact, that may have been his goal all along, as Green has continued to attract A-list casts even as he's gone back to making dramas again. And for his next film, the political adaptation Our Brand is Crisis, Green has Sandra Bullock as his star.
The first trailer for Our Brand is Crisis has been released, and it's based on the true story of American political strategists' influence on the 2002 Bolivian presidential campaign. Produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov with Billy Bob Thornton, Zoe Kazan, Ann Dowd, Anthony Mackie, Scoot McNairy and Joaquim de Almeida co-starring, the film is a narrative adaptation of Rachel Boynton's award-winning documentary, but this footage suggests a mix of of political intrigue and satire, which could make for an odd fit this awards season.
Our Brand is Crisis opens October 30th.
