'Alien: Paradise Lost' will Feature New Travelers

Ridley Scott has been doing the press run for The Martian, which got off to a phenomenal start over the weekend, but he's spent much of that time talking about Alien: Paradise Lost.  Much has already been revealed about the Prometheus follow-up, which we know will expand on many of the themes introduced in the first film. It will bring back stars Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender as the decapitated android, David, but now we know they can expect to get some company.

Speaking with Awards Campaign's Gregory Ellwood, Scott revealed there will be a whole new group of travelers coming along on this journey to uncover the origins of all life...

“It’s going to be it’s own separate thing because they are going to the planet of the Engineers and they are going to see what happened there. It was a disaster. And they will be in that alien craft that takes them there, but with a new group that’s incoming, a new group of travelers in the beginning of the first act.”

Who are these new travelers? Agents of Weyland Corporation looking to see what technology can be salvaged? Or is it perhaps a rescue mission looking for passengers aboard the Prometheus?

Scott adds that filming will get underway in March in order to have Alien: Paradise Lost ready by March 30th 2017.
