Trailer for 'Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension' Promises a Spooky Finale
Beginning with 2009's Paranormal Activity, Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have pretty much cornered the market on low-budget horror films. Their centerpiece franchise has had five movies, only costing a total of $18M (!!!) and yet they've earned more than $800M (not including the success of Japanese spinoff 'Tokyo Night'), which begs the question why in the world they would ever let that go? And maybe they won't, but for now they're pushing Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension as the final film in the found footage series. Whether that's true or not probably depends on how much money it can scare up this month.
The latest trailer teases answers to many of the franchise's biggest questions, and yes there are plenty of mysteries yet to be solved. This time we'll be taken inside the literal "ghost dimension" to find out why demons keep terrorizing white suburbanites with camera fetishes. Directed by Gregory Plotkin, the film promises 3D camera shots, girls vomiting up supernatural goo, and the return of the Katie demon (Katie Featherston) who we see as a child doing something she shouldn't be able to do.
Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension opens October 23rd, just in time for Halloween.
