'Die Hard' Writer Bringing Horror Comic 'Hack/Slash' to TV

There are plenty of great non-superhero comics just waiting to be brought to the screen, and one that has been in the works for years is Tim Seely's horror comic, Hack/Slash. A few years ago it was Marcus Nispel (Conan the Barbarian) who was ready to bring the story of Cassie Hack to theaters, but the project fell through and little has been heard of it since. But now comes word from THR that the rights have landed at Relativity, who plan to bring the series to TV.

The series will be written by Skip Woods, writer of Swordfish, A Good Day to Die Hard, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He most recently wrote the abysmal Hitman: Agent 47. Not the best resume, for sure, but he could be right for this kind of material. Hack/Slash was created by Seely and my favorite artist, Stefano Caselli, and centers on the disturbed Cassie Hack, who hunts and kills vicious slashers, even crossing paths with some of film's greatest horror villains.

A search is on for a director who can bring everything together in hopes of creating a gritty The Walking Dead-style series. Don't be surprised if a network like AMC steps up to check it out.
