Rachel McAdams' 'Doctor Strange' Role Revealed?
Marvel is gathering a totally offbeat cast for Doctor Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and Mads Mikkelsen reportedly eyeing a villain role presumed to be Dormammu. But there's also Rachel McAdams, who joined some time back in the female lead. While the assumption initially was that she would play Strange's love interest, Clea, speculation arose that she could actually be playing Night Nurse, and now there's been an update that could make her role a bit clearer.
According to Latino Review, McAdams is indeed playing Night Nurse, but not the one most would expect. Rather than the Linda Carter version who co-starred in Brian K. Vaughan's popular Doctor Strange: The Oath miniseries, McAdams would be playing the Christine Palmer version of the character. Palmer, who debuted back in 1973, is a surgical nurse who has had encounters with the X-Men. It's possible that Marvel is looking to combine all of the different versions of Night Nurse into one character that best suits their needs. It was reported before that Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple character in Daredevil was initially supposed to be Night Nurse, but Marvel wanted to keep her available for use on the big screen.
Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4th 2016.
