There was a split reaction to Sam Smith's Spectre theme, "Writing's On the Wall", between those who loved the elegant melody and those who wish it didn't sound so much like Adele's "Skyfall". Maybe the new music video, released today as part of Global James Bond Day, will help change a few minds.
Smith revealed the video early this morning, and it features footage of Daniel Craig, Monica Bellucci, Christoph Waltz, and Lea Seydoux in scenes from Spectre. Directed by Luke Monaghan, the video was shot in Rome and features Smith singing in a number of striking locations, but also features sobering scenes of caskets draped in the Union Jack.
Kind of a flat video for a flat song. Hopefully this isn't indicative of what we can expect from Spectre, which opens on November 6th.
