There's been talk of another Evil Dead film for years, not like the recent remake but one that truly followed Sam Raimi's original movies. For a while he even entertained the idea, teasing a larger franchise that would crossover the old films with the new. That idea never seemed to materialize, and instead eager fans are getting the Starz Network series, Ash vs. Evil Dead, which brings back Bruce Campbell as everyone's favorite Deadite killer.
Starz has revealed the first episodes opening scene, in which Ash goes out on the town looking for some action, and boy does he ever find it. The series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes with Sam and Ivan Raimi collaborating on the first one. The rest of the cast consists of Lucy Lawlees, Marrie Jones, Ray Santiago and Dana Delorenzo.
Admittedly, Evil Dead isn't my thing and I probably won't watch this, but practically everyone I know is going nuts over this. For their sake I hope it's what they were hoping for. Check out the clip below.
