'Black Mass' and 'Crazy Heart' Director Scott Cooper Eyes CIA Thriller 'White Knight'
While it remains to be seen just how much of a factor Scott Cooper's Whitey Bulger drama Black Mass is during the awards season, the director is busy lining up his next project. According to Deadline, Cooper may be going the franchise route with White Knight, which Warner Bros. hopes can be the next 'Bourne' or James Bond
Cooper would direct and rewrite Bill Dubuque's screenplay that centers on a disgraced Secret Service agent who leaves his employer and becomes the protector of an arms dealer's family. When things go sour he finds himself in the middle of a global CIA manhunt.
No word on when filming on this would begin, but Cooper, who also directed Crazy Heart and Out Of the Furnace, has always been good at attracting top notch casts and it wouldn't be a shock if he did so again. Perhaps Christian Bale or Johnny Depp would be interested in this?
