Olga Kurylenko is an 'Android'; Rami Malek Leads 'Buster's Mal Heart'; John Goodman Enters 'The Coldest City'
Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) is set to star in the sci-fi thriller, Android, which has a pretty cool premise. Directed and co-written by Niall Johnson, the film takes place on a ship orbiting Neptune, where a man rebuilds his dead wife (Kurylenko) and son as androids, only for them to demand lives of their own. Shooting begins next February.
Rami Malek has been knocking on stardom's door for a long time, but it took USA Network series Mr. Robot to make it happen. Now he's lined up his first real lead feature role in Buster's Mal Heart. The indie thriller is directed by Sarah Adina Smith and co-stars Lin Shaye (Insidious), with the story centered on a man suffering from a recurring dream who is forced to go on the run. [THR]
John Goodman, who is pretty great in the Hollywood blacklist drama, Trumbo, is joining espionage thriller, The Coldest City. Charlize Theron and James McAvoy star in the adaptation centering on super agent Lorraine Broughton who must find the explosive evidence carried by an MI6 agent killed on the eve of the Berlin Wall's collapse. Goodman will play an American agent in the film directed by John Wick's David Leitch.
