Steven Soderbergh has been doing some amazing things over on Showtime's The Knick; enough that he hasn't really been missed since he retired from the big screen. But his next TV project could be just as promising, as it's a serialized adaptation of his 2009 experimental film, The Girlfriend Experience, and the first trailer for it has arrived.
While Sasha Grey isn't in the lead anymore (Boooo!!!), that part has been passed to Riley Keough, last seen as one of the runaway wives in Mad Max: Fury Road. She also had a role in one of Soderbergh's final films, Magic Mike. Soderbergh is on board to exec-produce, with the intriguing combo of Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color) and Lodge Kerrigan (Claire Dolan) directing. The series centers on a law student who doubles as a high end escort.
Also starring Mary Lynn Rajskub, Paul Sparks and Kate Lyn Sheil, The Girlfriend Experience hits Starz in 2016.
