Here's What George Lucas Thinks Of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

George Lucas has been pretty chatty about all the things he hated about Star Wars. Basically he didn't enjoy being criticized by fans for everything he did, and nor was he a fan of being held in check from really doing the things he wanted to do. Of course, when he did do the things he wanted to do it brought us Greedo shooting first and Jar-Jar Binks, so maybe there was a reason for the criticism. But now all of that is in the rear view since he's no longer involved, and certainly had no part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. So how does he feel about the new film now that he's so completely divorced from it?

Kathleen Kennedy revealed to THR a few days ago that Lucas had seen the film and "really liked it". What else was she going to say? Lucas has now chimed in himself to reveal his thoughts and....well, he SEEMS to be saying something positive about it to Vulture...

“I think the fans are going to love it,” he said. “It’s very much the kind of movie they’ve been looking for.”

Er, that's pretty specific, isn't it? He didn't exactly say that he liked it, did he? Star Wars: The Force Awakens likely veers so far away from his original vision that it must have been tough to sit through, but still, George, show a little enthusiasm why don'tcha?
