Marvel's 'Iron Fist' Series Lands 'Dexter' Showrunner

Maybe those rumors Marvel was struggling with their Iron Fist Netflix series were merely that, just rumors? Because the series is definitely happening now that they've landed a showrunner in Scott Buck, who ran the last four seasons of Showtime's hit, Dexter.

Buck, who also worked on HBO's Rome and Six Feet Under, will also exec-produce Iron Fist, which centers on Marvel's popular kung-fu hero. He also happens to be best pals with Luke Cage (Mike Colter) who just played a major part on Jessica Jones and will have his own series next year. Iron Fist will center on Danny Rand, who returns to New York City after being missing for years, and uses his kung fu mastery to battle crime.

There's still no word on who will actually play Iron Fist, nor is there any indication when the show will debut. Some time in 2017 seems like a good fit as that will give Marvel time to put together The Defenders, the fifth series of their original plan.
