Warner Bros. has a lot riding on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, more than mere box office numbers. While Man of Steel launched their new cinematic universe of DC Comics heroes, this is the film that puts them on solid ground. If it fails that puts Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and everything else in shaky territory. Fortunately there seems to be genuine excitement to see comics' two greatest heroes square off, and the new footage debuted tonight teases a very revealing confrontation.
Premiering tonight as part of the Gotham midseason finale, this new 'Batman v Superman' promo has the Dark Knight held captive in the desert, only for Superman to take advantage and tear off his mask. While this seems like a big deal it's possible, perhaps even likely, that Superman already knew it was Bruce Wayne underneath. Whether he knew or not this is clearly a major moment that could be a turning point in their battle. Here's the official synopsis:
