New Trailer For Spy Drama 'Despite The Falling Snow' Starring Rebecca Ferguson

Pretty much everyone who saw Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation walked away knowing Rebecca Ferguson was about to be a huge star. And Hollywood has taken steps to make sure that happens, setting her for major roles in The Girl On the Train, the Meryl Streep drama Florence Foster Jenkins, and The Snowman opposite Michael Fassbender. But next up for her is the Cold War drama, Despite the Falling Snow, which has just debuted a new trailer.

Ferguson plays a dual role in the espionage film directed by Shamin Sarif based on her own novel. Charles Dance, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Antje Traue, Sam Reid, Anthony Head, Trudie Styler, and Thure Lindhardt co-star in the story of an American politican who falls in love with a female Russian spy, only to encounter her niece, also played by Ferguson, decades later. Here's the synopsis:

"After an early career amongst the political elite of Cold War Moscow, Alexander Ivanov has lived in America for forty years and has managed to bury the tragic memories surrounding his charismatic late life, Katya – or so he believes. For into his life come two women – one who will start to open up the heart he has protected for so long; another who is determined to uncover the truth about what really happened to Katya all those years ago. The novel’s journey back to the snowbound streets of post-Stalinist Moscow reveals a precarious, dangerous world of secrets and treachery."

Despite the Falling Snow has yet to find a U.S. distributor but that should change given Ferguson's popularity. The film does open in the U.K. in April.
