Ryan Reynolds Rejoins 'Deadpool' Writers For Sci-Fi Film, 'Life'

Deadpool is not only a certified hit, scoring the largest debut weekend ever for an R-rated movie, but it's also a franchise with 20th Century Fox greenlighting a sequel. The follow-up will see Ryan Reynolds reteaming with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, but apparently they all got along well enough that they want to work together on something else entirely, as well.

According to Deadline, Reynolds is in talks for sci-fi film, Life, which Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation) signed on to star in last month. Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, which also starred Reynolds) is set to direct from Reese and Wernick's screenplay about an international space station's crew who retrieve a sample from Mars only to discover that it shows signs of intelligent life.

This will be Reynolds' next film before he dons the red Deadpool suit once more, but as of now there's no set start date.
