Amazon Casts 'Guardians Of The Galaxy''s Peter Serafinowicz As The Tick!

Amazon has some big blue shoes to fill when replacing Patrick Warburton in their reboot of The Tick. While the cartoon adaptation of Ben Edlund's quirky cult comic lasted longer on-air, it's Warburton's take on the character that most people remember. Plus he had that perfect chin. But it appears they've found their guy who will be shouting "Spoon!!" as he leaps into battle, and it's British actor Peter Serafinowicz.

If the name's not familiar then you may remember him from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, because he's the guy who uttered the now famous line, "What a bunch of a-holes". He joins Griffin Newman as Tick's loyal if overly cautious sidekick, Arthur; and Valorie Curry as Arthur's sister, Dot. In this version, the Tick is suffering from amnesia while Arthur has been labeled a schizophrenic due to his paranoid warnings about an evil plot to take over the city.

On paper it may sound like a darker take on the characters, but when given the comic touch Edlund is likely to bring it shouldn't depart too far from the comics. The pilot episode is expected to be directed by Christopher Nolan's former DP, Wally Pfister.
