'Captain America: Civil War' Is Marvel's Longest Film Ever
War movies are almost always a tough, overlong sit, and apparently that includes superhero wars. Captain America: Civil War is going to have Marvel's longest runtime yet, clocking in at a healthy 2 hours and 27 minutes. So you might want to take off that Iron Man mask before the movie starts because you're going to be in it for a while.
Just a couple of weeks ago we learned that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would run 2 hours and 31 minutes, which Zack Snyder revealed was really 2 hours and 22 minutes with credits. The reaction was a swift "Holy crap that's too long! The movie will suck!", but will those people say the same about 'Civil War'? Or will they give Marvel a pass?
Not that the film's length should come as a surprise. There's a reason it has been referred to as "Avengers 2.5" because practically every Avenger is in it, including some new ones like Spider-Man and Black Panther. Chances are audiences will be sticking around all the way through the end credits, too. Does anybody leave a Marvel film before the credits? If so, why?
Captain America: Civil War opens May 6th.
