Trailer For Steven Spielberg's 'The BFG' Enters The Realm Of Giants
Did Jeff Nichols' Midnight Special not quite scratch your itch for some good old fashioned Amblin excitement? Then don't worry, because Steven Spielberg is bringing you the real thing later this year with his adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book, The BFG, and a magical new trailer is here to transport you to the world of giants.
Featuring Oscar-winning Bridge of Spies star Mark Rylance as the titular "Big Friendly Giant", the film centers on the friendship that develops between him and a little girl named Sophie, played by Ruby Barnhill. And this trailer is full of all the child-like wonder and danger we haven't seen lately from Spielberg movies. In particular the giants' realm is an astonishingly gorgeous place, looking like a cross between Avatar and Harry Potter. Here's the official synopsis:
Also starring Rebecca Hall, Jemaine Clement, Penelope Wilton, and Bill Hader, The BFG opens on July 22nd.
