Anna Gunn Challenges Wall Street In The 'Equity' Trailer

One film I had peppered all over my calendar at Sundance but never managed to see was Equity, the latest in the growing line of recent Wall Street thrillers. The film stars Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn  as Naomi Bishop, a senior investment banker who gets passed over for a promotion, so she sets out to take a buzzy startup public and raise her profile within the firm. That whole plan goes awry due to deception, office politics, and greed.

What's most interesting about the film, besides Gunn and promising director Meera Menon (Farah Goes Bang), is that we're seeing one of these financial world stories told from a female perspective. Here's hoping it's just the first of many.

Also starring James Purefoy, Sarah Megan Thomas, and Alysia Reiner, Equity opens July 29th.
