Brad Garrett Is The New Krang In 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows'

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is shaping up to be the TMNT film for old school fans. Already you've got Casey Jones, Rocksteady, Bebop, Baxter Stockman, and of course the Shredder for the Turtles to contend with, but they also have that squishy pink villain Krang to battle. Last we heard it would be Fred Armisen voicing Krang, but that is no longer the case.

According to the LA Times Hero Complex, Armisen's schedule didn't allow for him to be part of the production, and so he was replaced by the booming voice of Brad Garrett. The Everybody Loves Raymond star joins Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, William Fichtner, Brian Tee, Sheamus, Gary Anthony Williams, Brittany Ishibashi, Laura Linney, and Will Arnett.

Krang is an intergalactic despot from Dimension X, whose plans to rule the universe usually find him aligned with Shredder. He resembles a talking pink brain and while disgusting to look at, he doesn't seem particularly formidable. That would be a mistake, though, because he can usually be found inside his powerful exo-suit. Having Krang in the film opens up the cosmic element prevalent in many of the TMNT stories, and it's probably a good bet they'll head off into space at some point. Maybe not in this film, which opens on July 3rd, but almost certainly in a sequel.
