Bryan Cranston Takes On Pablo Escobar In 'The Infiltrator' Trailer
By now you may be sick to death of movies and TV shows on infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. That's totally understandable. But at least if you check out The Infiltrator it comes with the benefit of a lead performance by Bryan Cranston, and who would ever refuse something like that?
Co-starring Diane Kruger, John Leguizamo, Amy Ryan, Benjamin Bratt, and Yul Vazquez with Brad Furman (Runner Runner), the film stars Cranston as real-life agent Bob Mazur who went deep cover inside Escobar's drug operation, only to find the job was much tougher than he anticipated. Here's the synopsis:
Based on a true story, Federal agent ROBERT “BOB” MAZUR goes deep undercover to infiltrate Pablo Escobar’s drug trafficking scene plaguing the nation in 1986 by posing as slick, money-laundering businessman Bob Musella. Teamed with impulsive and streetwise fellow agent EMIR ABREU and rookie agent posing as his fiancĂ© KATHY ERTZ, Mazur befriends Escobar’s top lieutenant ROBERTO ALCAINO. Navigating a vicious criminal network in which the slightest slip-up could cost him his life, Mazur risks it all building a case that leads to indictments of 85 drug lords and the corrupt bankers who cleaned their dirty money, along with the collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, one of the largest money-laundering banks in the world.
