Colin Farrell And Yorgos Lanthimos Reteam For 'The Killing Of A Sacred Deer'
Looking for an offbeat romance to take in this weekend? You'll find no better option than Yorgos Lanthimos' weird love story, The Lobster, starring Colin Farrell in one of his better recent performances. The film has already been showered with acclaim ever since it took the Jury Prize at Cannes last year. That's the kind of successful partnership that's worth going back to, and that's exactly what is about to happen.
Farrell will star in Lanthimos' psychological thriller with the cool title, The Killing of a Sacred Deer. The project was first announced a couple of months ago, with the Euripedes-inspired story centering on a charismatic surgeon and a teenage boy who attempts to integrate him into his broken family. But when the boy's actions turn sinister, the doctor is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice to save his ideal life.
This one is still being shopped around, which should give Lanthimos time to move forward on period drama The Favorite, starring Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, and Kate Winslet. [ScreenDaily]
